2007 Mississippi 50 Trail Run

The next Carl Touchstone Mississippi 50 Trail Run will be held on March 10,2007. This will be the first running of the Mississippi 50 since our visit

from hurricane Katrina in August 2005. The forest scenery has changed some

but the trail is now in good shape. Many thanks to everyone who has signed

up,

as we were worried that the cancellation in 2006 would hurt our attendance.

We already have over 60 signed up, almost 1/3 of the way to our cutoff at

200,

so it looks like we will fill up early.

The entry form is on the race web site or you can register on-line at

Active.com. (You will get a net discount if you register on-line at

Active.com, even after their fee.)

All entrants will get a race t-shirt, pre-race meal at race headquarters,

and post-race food at the race site. Trophies will be awarded to the top

finishers as they finish. All finishers will get a finisher memento. In

addition, all 50 mile finishers will also receive a handsome 50 miler belt

buckle. Details on the t-shirt, meals, and memento will be posted on the web

site as soon as they are firm.

50 mile, 50 K, and 20K options are available, and a unique feature of the

MS50 is that you can change your mind about which race you are in during the

event. (But trophies will not be awarded to runners who switch races).

The location of race headquarters in Laurel has changed, so be sure to look

at the new directions posted on the web site. Plan to come for the pre-race

meal and briefing Friday night, and stay for the door prizes
