Across the Years News

It’s now less than 15 hours from the start of Across the Years 2006, the 24th edition of the race, and preparations are under way.
We would like you to visit our webcast repeatedly during the race to enjoy the webcast. The web site is:
Some special features for race time have been implemented.
o Improved Current Standings will be automatically
updated every few seconds, showing close to real time
progress.
o On-Site News Reports will present verbal descriptions
to be posted periodically by observers at the race. I
just posted the first official report myself.
o Links to pictures uploaded during the race. Just a
while ago I uploaded and labeled a few Prerace
Pictures, so there is already stuff to see.
o A program by means of which to post messages to
runners in the race. I’m hoping also to include the
race director Paul Bonnett and host Rodger Nardini in
the list before I head for bed tonight.
o A continuously runnning webcam. At this writing we
have had difficulties getting this working correctly.
If it doesn’t happen we will be just as disappointed
as any of you.
Yesterday and this morning it rained here in the Phoenix area, but it’s drying off, and predictions are for sunny skies, but lower than normal temperatures through the race.
The race begins at exactly 9:00am tomorrow (Friday, December 29th), Mountain Standard Time. Hope you can join us!
