Delhi to Shimla – 370km

Posted by planetultramarathon on February 2, 2007

Arun Bhardwaij has commenced another solo run in India. He is attempting to run 370km between Delhi and Shimla in 100 hours which will be a record in India. Below is some more details on the run from Arun. I received a text message from Arun earlier today and he has already covered 100kms with no injuries etc. More details will be posted as they are known.

From 1st February 2007, I am doing a solo run of 370 km, from Delhi to Shimla targeting to cover the course within 100 hours in total. It will be a record for this stretch. Last 70 kms gain 1500 mts height. The organisers was to affliate or recognise it from if there is such any body who keeps records of such types of runs and if there are any specific guidelines/rules.

However, we are making a witness log book to be witnessed by the crew members, passers by with their address/phone numbers/vehicle numbers, from police check posts, toll checks , petrol pumps. We are planning to take photograph on every kilometer/or on every half an kilometer. Limca Book of Records, an enterprise of Coca Cola, (is like the guinneesse book for Indian records) is also informed and are offered to monitor the race throughout the way.

Please tell us if anything else is required. If there is any association of that kind (Is ARRS?) , then we are ready to follow all the instructions and then want it to be recognised under that association.

Regards,
