VT Snowshoe Marathon and 1/2 Marathon – March 3rd!!

Hey Folks… Plenty of snow in Vermont. Its not an ultra but its GREAT winter training for the upcoming ultra-season. Also note… David Breshears is indeed going to be there to talk about his new Everest Film.
Loaner snowshoes will be available from Dion snowshoes for those who do not own a pair to race in!!!

What:
Snowshoe Marathon (5,500 feet of elevation change) and Half Marathon.
9 Hour Time Limit.
Location:
Start/Finish is at 4257 Rte. 100 in Pittsfield.
Check-In:
Friday, March 2nd from 7-8 at Pittsfield Original General Store, Rte 100.
Post Race:
A presentation by world famous mountaineer, adventurer and filmmaker , David Breashears around 7:00 pm at Riverside Farms.

Lodging:
Swiss Farm Inn, Rte. 100, Pittsfield. 802-746-8341.
Parking:
Yoga Studio, 3631 Rte. 100, Pittsfield. Shuttle at 7 and 7:30.
Course:
Non-certified. Out and Back. Trail (un-groomed) and back country roads. Course will be marked with ribbons and signs.
Aid:
Mile 6.5, 13, 19.5 – Very Minimal (some snacks and fruit). Carry food and water with you.
Rentals:
Loaner snowshoes will be available for anyone who wants to race but doesn’t own shoes. DION snowshoes has been kind enough to support the event.
Entry Fee:
$45 by Feb 1st. $60 by March 1st. Non-refundable.
Prize Money:
$500 for top male and $500 for top female
Awards:
Top 3 Male and Female will receive a unique award, finishers medals for all and technical fabric shirts.
