Book Review: "Its Only A Mountain" I was talking to good friend Hans Bauer today about how training has been going through the Winter months. Lets face it, for those of us living in the North.. it gets a bit tougher to get out the front door for a run during the winter months... and the treadmill is no more inviting. So I explained to Hans how I've managed to get through the last 2 frigid New England months. It was by reading a book titled, "Its Only A Mountain." The book is about arguably one of the greatest Father/Son teams in the history of sports... Dick and Rick Hoyt. The book is very easy to read and hard to put down as author, Sam Nall, takes you through the journey of Team Hoyt from Rick's birth to present. I'll be honest, I cried a few times while reading it but in the end I was left with one thing on my mind.. "There are no excuses." And as stated in the book, "If the Hoyt's can do it... I can do it." I recommend any runner check this book out if you have some spare time to read. You can find it online here: http://www.icdri.org/inspirational/teamhoyt.htm I am honored to have an autographed copy which I hold very dear.
