Plug for the home race

Just a reminder to those looking for a way to burn a few extra
calories before chowing into their chocolate Easter bunnies (and for
the non-Christians among you, please know that the chocolate Easter
bunny is an ecumenical item and can be consumed by people of any
faith or non-faith… my father was an agnostic and greatly enjoyed
his chocolate bunnies).

Anyhoo, a reminder that the Mad City 100K is Saturday, April 7, in
Madison, WI — the Saturday before Easter. It is the national 100K
championship, but people of “humble” foot speed are welcome to sign
up, as well as the speedsters. There is a 13-hour time limit. There
is also a relay division — a team can consist of up to 10 people
(the course is ten, 10K loops).

Madison is a hoot of a place for a race. Don’t be afraid of the
pavement — this course goes through the arboretum — very pretty.

So a special invitation to my fellow mid-packers to come and join me
at this first-ever run. Perhaps I’ll even come up with a new cookie
recipe just for the event (the TPs can testify that a new cookie
recipe is worth showing up for). Look for the L’il Mister on the
course for your own sample.

For info on the race go to: http://www.madcity100k.com

Hope to see you there… or at least some of you!
Mary
