HAT Run Update

Posted by planetultramarathon on March 22, 2007

We are expecting our largest starting field (400 plus) for the 19th
Annual HAT Run. Some important notices for runners, crew and
spectators. Check the website for additional information,
www.hatrun.com

Runners:

1. Check the website for your race number to help speed up packet
pickup.

2. The stream crossings will be a challenge. The water level is high
so expect to get wet and the rocks are covered.

3. We will not do random prizes at race start. Instead we will have a

listing of winners and prizes will be in your race bag.

Crew and Spectators:

1. Rock Run Road is closed – it is the road leading to the lower aid
stations. Here are detour directions:

As you exit the museum road, please make 5 left turns to get to the
picnic area. Follow the BLUE DETOUR signs.

1st LEFT – Left at the museum front gate (Quaker Bottom Rd)

2nd LEFT – Turn LEFT on to Webster Lapidum Rd.

3rd LEFT – Turn LEFT on to Lapidum Rd (caution steep down hill at
the end of this road.)

4th LEFT – Turn LEFT at Herring Run rd at the parking lot.

5th LEFT – Turn LEFT into the picnic area.

To return to the museum you will take 5 RIGHTS and follow the BLUE
DETOUR signs back to Steppingstone.

2. : The speed limit in the park is 25 & 30 mph. The park police
will ticket speeders. It is only a 10-15 minute detour so be
careful. You have been warned

3. You will need to pay an entry fee at the picnic area for access to

the aid stations. It is $2 for Maryland residents and $3 for out of
State. The pass is good for the day.
