2007 Pemi-Challenge #1: June 23rd
April 24, 2007 — planetultramarathonGreetings Fellow Runners!
On Saturday, June 23rd a group of us will be running New Hampshire’s
Pemi-Loop as our final long run before the Vermont 100 Mile Endurance
Run.
The Pemi Loop is a total of 31.5 miles in length (50K) with a
cumulative elevation of 9,150 feet. Included in the basic horseshoe
loop are 8 of the 48 four thousand foot peaks of New Hampshire. 3 More
can be added via Spur trail, each no more than 2 miles round trip.
About 4 miles of this run takes place entirely above tree line and
more than half of the run takes place at an elevation over 3,500′.
Some of the best views in the nation!

This run will begin at 7AM on Saturday, June 23rd and will continue
until you complete the run through completion of the loop OR by way of
with-drawl from the challenge.
Here are the times from last years August Challenge:

This is a FATASS event. There is no fee and you are participating at
your own risk. Because we will be travelling in a designated
wilderness area from time to time, our group is required to stay
“spread out” which I’m sure will not be a major issue. However, I
would appreciate that if you are coming, you please “register” with me
to ensure we keep track of how many will be in our group.
ALSO THIS WEEKEND (6/23): Some of us will be camping at the Crawford
Notch General Store and Campground as part of our own mini ultra-camp.
Bring your own everything. We have a list of sites reserved. If you
wish to be a part of this, please contact me as well… we have
limited space. The plan is to spend time at the campground sharing
stories, training tips and ultra advice. The more the merrier.
Possible second run on Sunday the 24th.
Sherpa John
