At last, we made the 43 km in a 5 min/km pace, not because we need to but it
was fun and we had a good wind. Besides we took real nice breaks even had
some sort of pick nick at the side of the Traisen and stuck our feet several
times in the icecold water, a relieve!!

The burgemeister came and Dorfi who brought his father with his trumpet.
Even while pictures were taken he blew the horn. Do we have pictures with
sound nowadays????
Well it sure guaranteed a speedy start to get away from that noise. Just
kidding, actually I though it really nice to have music at the start,
something new again. Thanks for that.

Along the Danube over Traismauer, cutting inward and then some 30 km along
the Traisen with NO traffic at all and only beauty around us. A huge snake
crossed the road just in front of us. Mind you I am Dutch and we have no
snakes, so probably you guys would not have mentioned this at least a meter
long life threatening creature. Peter assured me it was not
poisoneous…….so it is then undoubtly a strangler, who cares!

The run takes its toll and Peter started the day with an open blister,
slightly bigger than the sole of his foot, but being a Tiroler he ignored it
and ran on……until km 38. I had the break at km 40 and gave him a call
with my mobole as I started wondering. He said he saw stars and realised
this was not the time of the day to do so and took another small minute to
recover but soon enough he was back in the picture grinded his teeth and ran
for the beer at 43 km. Amazing guy.

So here we are in St. Pöltenand the daily ritual start again. First a beer
and some solid food other than chocolate, then looking for a bed, get a
shower, possible do some small washing, hook up the rechargeable stuff for
tomorrow, try to get some shopping done before everything closes, looking
for an internet place and sometimes separate a place where I can download
the pictures for the Tagesbuch. Then it is time to reallly eat, if I am
lucky I can take something into the hotel. The last thing is to hook up the
phone, make sure all is in place and I try to be ready with this all at
20.00.
Looking at the time now I see that it is 19.59 and I still have to go and
find some food, so I´d better go now
