The Coburg Harriers 24 Hour Carnival team are pleased to announce that the entry form for our 2008 event is now available and a soft copy is enclosed with this email.
With the Gosford Coastal Classic not being scheduled in 2008 and with the growing popularity of our own event, we have decided to extend it from 2 days to 3 days to allow more competitors the chance to complete in a way that does not compromise the event.
The 6 Hour Run and Walk categories will race on Sunday 30 March, starting at 9AM and finishing at 3PM. This will run as a standalone event and the total field size will be capped at 45 competitors. Entries will be taken on a first come first served basis. Entries close on Friday 21 March or earlier if the limit of 45 is reached before this date.
The 12 Hour and 24 Hour Run and Walk categories will race on the weekend of 19-20 April, commencing at 10AM on Saturday 19 April. As for the 6 Hour event, the total field size will be capped at 45 competitors and entries will be taken on a first come first served basis. Entries close on Friday 11 April or earlier if the limit of 45 is reached before this date. As in past years, the 24 Hour run encompasses the Victorian 24 Hour track championship and the 24 Hour walk encompasses the annual Australian Centurion walkers qualifying event.
Entry cost will remain unchanged from 2007 with one alteration – for people who want to use the 6 Hour event as a warm up towards the 12 or 24 hour event, a reduced entry fee has been put into place.
6 Hour entry $40
12 Hour entry $50
24 Hour entry $60
6 Hour + 12 Hour $70
6 Hour + 24 Hour $80
As usual, all events will be held at the Harold Stephens Track at Coburg, a northern suburb of Melbourne.
