Jane Allen is embarking on a lifelong ambition to walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End, raising money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. She started on Friday 13th April which also happened to be her 50th birthday!
It will take Jane about 10 weeks to complete the 1000 mile solo walk, raising money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
She’ll have help along the way from her enthusiastic team of one – Royal Marine husband Frank who has agreed to undertake all support roles, including driving Jane’s home for the next 10 weeks, a motor home donated for the occasion and festooned with Royal Navy and Royal British Legion logos.
Jane, who lives in Landscove, Devon, is a Commander with the Royal Naval Reserve and is based at Plymouth unit HMS Vivid. She has just returned from a six month deployment to Baghdad in Iraq.
