New Indian 24hr Treadmill record

Congratulations to Arun Bhardwaij

Arun Bhardwaj Saturday attempted to set an Indian ‘record’ and enter the Limca Book of Records by running 164 kilometres on treadmill in a 24-hour non-stop effort here.

Bhardwaj started his attempt Friday and completed it 24 hours later. But, surprisingly, no one from the Limca Book of Records was present at the venue at Connaught Place.

‘Limca people sent an e-mail to Adidas, the sponsor, saying that they can send all evidence, including the video recording and the press clippings, to it and then it would confirm the record,’ an organiser told IANS.

‘It was an absolute dream run – one of the biggest milestones I have achieved so far,’ Bharadwaj said after the event.

‘I had broken the 100 km barrier once before, but nothing can match this exhilarating feeling of setting a record and receiving encouragement from sports enthusiasts from all over Delhi.’

Bhardwaj will now run the Vodafone Delhi Half Marathon here Sunday.
