  • Charity walking events globally with prize money and “World Championship”
  • Check out http://www.extramileendurathon.com/, watch the video clips of past events. For entries click “USA”, then “Boulder” (or other city), then “… Participants …”
  • Get all details (rules, maps) for Boulder/CO on http://ultrawalk.com. Alexander Skora is the organizer of ExtraMileEndurathon, I am the RD for Boulder. There is a limit of entries. We start advertising now and it may fill up fast
  • In Las Vegas there was a winner after 31 hours, in Berlin after 36 hours, in Barcelona after 68 hours and in Buenos Aires after 102 hours
The way it works
  • A group of walkers stays together on a ~4 mile loop till everybody dropped except the winner (“last man/woman standing”), who then has to go an extra mile. He/she will get $1000. At the “World Championship” in Las Vegas it’s $10,000
  • No entry fee, no aid stations, no sleep breaks. Stops for eat + drink (you pay) at “To Go Places”, for changing, restrooms, foot care, traffic lights
  • Speed and distance are not important
  • The organization pays $1 for every mile you walked to a charity of your choice. For the winner it’s $2 per mile
