The annual Australian Centurions 24 Hour walk was successfully held last

This race, held in conjunction with the Coburg Harriers, is a combined

Unfortunately, the weather was unseasonally warm with temperatures on
Saturday around 30 degrees and clear blue skies. The 10AM Saturday
morning start meant that competitors had to face some 7 hours of very
hot conditions before any relief could be expected and this is reflected
in the overall results.
From a Centurion perspective, we had only one walker who managed to
walk in excess of 100 miles – Peter Bennett of Queensland who won with
171.968km to record his 9th centurion finish and his fourth in
Australia. The other walkers gave of their all but the centurion mark
proved elusive for them this time around.
